‘Cluster Navigators came to me highly recommended. Their signature attribute was supposedly " results oriented." However, I remained skeptical. I was skeptical about their ability to deliver real development results......on the ground results.....and about their ability to demonstrate any measure of success in the difficult Sub Saharan African contexts where many others had failed.
The first challenge that we faced together was to wake up competitively dormant sectors and to refocus the energies of industry leaders outwardly....outside their own enterprises...... on new market developments, new process technologies, new products and services, new modes of collaboration and most importantly on new modes of competing.
All of this entailed organizational learning and Cluster Navigators delivered. They delivered the context, the content and the cluster motivation required to move competitively dormant sectors to new levels of competitiveness and to activate higher levels of collective competency.’
